If such particles are not removed, the fibres will eventually break down and cause irreversible damage. It is recommended that your carpets are deep cleaned every 6-12 months, but the exact frequency will depend on your living environment.
As a rule of thumb, if your carpets are looking trampled, grimy or your allergies have worsened, it’s probably time to treat your carpets to a deep clean.
