How does the wood floor restoration process work?
Our knowledge of different types of wood floors means we can restore various wood floors, from the modern to the old. We use a 7-stage process:
- We prepare the wood floor surface by ensuring any nails are below the surface, all loose boards are secured back in place and take moisture readings. We can also fill in any gaps between the floorboards where needed
- Next, we remove all dust and dirt from the floor, which could damage it further during the sanding process, using an H-rated high-filtration vacuum.
- We then sand the main floor area using the latest Pallmann spider floor sanding equipment combined with an H-rated extraction system.
- We then focus on sanding the edges and any details with an edging sander system for a uniform finish.
- Not quite done yet, we give the floor a final sanding with a superfine grit to create the best finish possible.
- Using a highly efficient vacuum system, we ensure any dust is thoroughly removed from the surface.
- Finally, we treat the wood floor to protect it and then apply either an oil or lacquer finish that resists dirt and moisture.
