Simple But Effective
We work to a simple but effective process, with particular stages documented and followed accordingly.
For instance, initially, we will always inspect your floor for loose nails and boards and take moisture readings. We then remove any dirt and dust prior to sanding. Our sander consists of an H rated advanced extraction system.
As you might expect, this ensures a quality finish. We then make sure the edges and corners are uniform before using a super fine grit floor sander.
After the floor has been sanded, we will vacuum any dust before applying oil or lacquer, depending on your choice.
Finishing Options
If you choose the oil option – it is actually hard wax oil - for your floor’s finish, then you will have to wait up to four hours for it to dry and up to 24 hours before moving furniture back into the room. It does, however, provide a more natural finish to flooring and is excellent for hiding wear and tear on the floor itself. You’ll need to mop it regularly to keep it looking good.
The lacquer finish has a matt appearance. Like the oil finish, is it also durable, but it happens to need less maintenance to keep it looking good. Be warned, though; it can result in scratching – so ban high heels the minute your guests arrive at your front door.
